AEDT is a non-profit association representing European retail enterprises specialised in fashion and footwear.

There are more than 530.000 clothing and footwear retail companies in Europe. Since 1958, AEDT represents them vis-à-vis the European Institutions and aims at fostering a favourable business and legal environment.

Its main activities include:

• represent and promote the common interests of the sector at EU level
• deal with ‘fashion and footwear specific’ issues
• carry out European and international projects
• gather sectoral statistics and studies & facilitate the exchange of best practices

AEDT is member of EuroCommerce, of the International Apparel Federation and has a ‘liaison’ status with the CEN – European Committee of Standardisation.
